A high backhand volley chip over to the opposite side of the court where there is a big gap and space to try and build an attacking position from. A shot that is undervalued at the amateur level maybe because it is so difficult to play but here is an example of the power and importance of the shot. Gawad gives the ball a lot of space so when he makes contact he has freedom in his swing to redirect the ball high on the front wall and wide to the open side of the court. He is really balanced when executing the shot also.
